Voccle ("we", "our", or "us") operates the website www.voccle.com and the Voccle web application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using Voccle, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
a) Account Information (via Google OAuth)
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture URL via Google OAuth. This data is stored securely in our database (Supabase) and is used solely to identify your account and sync your flashcard decks across devices.
b) User-Generated Content
Flashcard decks, individual cards, and study progress data you create in Voccle are stored in our database and associated with your account. You can delete this data at any time from your account settings.
c) Usage & Analytics Data
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how users interact with Voccle (pages visited, features used, session duration). This data is anonymized and aggregated. You can opt out via your browser settings or the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on.
d) Advertising (Google AdSense)
Voccle may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ad Settings at adssettings.google.com.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve the Voccle service
- To sync your flashcard data across devices
- To send optional email reminders for spaced repetition reviews (only if you enable this feature)
- To analyze usage patterns and improve the user experience
- To display relevant advertisements to support the free service
3. Email Notifications
If you have an account and due flashcards, Voccle may send reminder emails to help you maintain your study schedule. These emails are sent only to registered users and only when cards are due. You can disable email notifications at any time in your account settings.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure hosted on AWS. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase — database and authentication
- Google OAuth — sign-in
- Google Analytics 4 — usage analytics
- Google AdSense — advertising
- Google Gemini AI — flashcard generation (text you submit is processed by Google's AI)
- Vercel — hosting and CDN
6. Cookies
Voccle uses localStorage to remember your language preference and color theme. Google Analytics and Google AdSense may set cookies on your device. You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Opt out of email notifications
- Opt out of personalized advertising

8. Children's Privacy
Voccle is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Voccle after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
